Jazzfest Exclusive concert and program release at DIGS on March 17!
We celebrate that the program for May 2022 is ready and have invited world star Etienne Mbappé to mark the event.
The trio NEC + is led by the bassist with the black silk gloves, and is complemented by his longtime companions Christophe Cravero on keyboards and Nicolas Viccaro on drums. The music is described as intense, surprising, singing and dancing - where African winds sweep across a recognizable jazz landscape.
The evening ends in Digs Café with a nice musical meeting between John Pål Inderberg and Bjørn Alterhaug.

Jazzfest rejoices that the long-standing good and award-winning partner Scandic Nidelven Hotel is extending the agreement! It means a lot that we can offer artists and partners the very best place for accommodation, partner meetings, festival offices etc. And both parties are hoping for a full house both during Jazzfest in May and Julejazz in December.
Hotel director at Scandic Nidelven, Kjetil Vassdal, says that in all years they have had a close and very good collaboration with Jazzfest. We are also incredibly happy that the agreement is renewed once again, nothing is like a good collaboration, where both parties are satisfied and want to extend the agreement. Jazzfest and Julejazz are not only important for the activity here at the hotel, but are a fantastic offer to the entire population of Trondheim, Vassdal concludes.
The jazz audience in Trondheim showed up in full when the authorities now finally opened up. Suddenly we sat close together and there was a tense atmosphere in the room when Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk quickly and informatively welcomed the audience back and "Jazzfest Exclusive" could welcome Sinne Eeg Group - after four canceled attempts!
They opened with a hefty version of "My Favorite Things". Full of tempo changes and nice vocal details. Sinne Eeg is not a singer who closes her eyes and "goes into herself". No, she addresses the audience directly almost as an actress. There is communication without facts and the text is articulated clearly. She turns and twists tones, words and phrases and really plays with text and melody. They calmed down a bit with "The Beauty of Sadness", (text: S. Eeg) and it struck me that she has this ability to capture the mood of a song / text and keep it for a long time. The audience was fully present and you could hear the famous pin. The drummer took out the brushes and now it worked better acoustically as well.
