Jazzfest 2026 is over, and it was a week we will have in our memory for a long time! The festival opened with a sold out Olavshallen with the legendary Jan Garbarek Group feat. Trilok Gurtu and closed with a sold out Byscenen with Nils Petter Molvær and the masterpiece HMER.

We congratulate pianist and composer Anna Ueland on her appointment as NTNU Ambassador in 2026! In collaboration with NTNU, the title is awarded to an artist/musician who represents the university and the jazz program in an outstanding way.

✍️ In 2025, Bjørn Klakegg received support to write new music for Jazzfest, and on Tuesday, May 6th, you can experience the premiere of new music. Take part in the enchanting sound of an extended Needlepoint with energetic drumming, virtuoso improvisations and atmospheric lyrics!
ARTIST RELEASE! 6 new artists for Jazzfest 2026 😍
💥 On May 9, Nils Petter Molvær will close Jazzfest 2026 with his groundbreaking album Khmer, which confirmed his career and role in jazz history. The celebration of this gem in Norwegian jazz history is not something you want to miss!
🔥 On May 8, it will be a fabulous evening at Byscenen when Veslemøy Narvesen, Orbits and Anna Ueland fill the room with everything from critically acclaimed jazz to danceable R&B.
Dirty Loops were on fire and in flames during the concert at Byscenen last week!
Petter Aagaard from the music magazine Puls described the concert as follows:
"Some concerts hit you in the diaphragm. Others hit you right in the brain and shake everything you thought you knew about pop music. Dirty Loops at Byscenen did both, with a smile, a twinkle in the eye and a musicality that makes ordinary mortal musicians consider new career plans."
We are proud to have presented the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra's 25th anniversary during Jazzfest 2025!
The concert was a celebration of the their last 25 years, with music specially arranged for the occasion by Hanna Paulsberg, Erlend Skomsvoll, Marianna Sangita A Røe, Eirik Hegdal and Ole Morten Vågan. NRK was present to document it all, and now you can watch the concert on their website 🤩 Thanks to all musicians and partners for a fantastic concert!
