Anna Ueland is the NTNU Ambassador in 2026!

We congratulate pianist and composer Anna Ueland on her appointment as NTNU Ambassador in 2026! In collaboration with NTNU, the title is awarded to an artist/musician who represents the university and the jazz program in an outstanding way.

The jury explains: "Anna Ueland is both a very distinctive and very versatile musician, who moves seamlessly between free jazz, pop, improvisation and experimental expressions. After completing her bachelor's degree in performing piano at NTNU, she has established herself as an active and innovative freelance musician based in Trondheim.

Throughout both her studies and her professional career, Anna has distinguished herself as a fearless, energetic and very versatile artist.

In addition to her work as a pianist, composer and bandleader, Anna has also participated in music and in the environments she is part of. Her communication is mature and genuine, and she also conveys clearly and honestly about being a student at the Jazz Program and about the transition from studies to freelance life.

With her combination of artistic originality, solid academic background and clear position in the young Norwegian jazz community, Anna Ueland is a brilliant and forward-looking choice as NTNU Ambassador 2026."

On Friday, May 8, you can hear her project "Popular Music for Like-minded People" at Byscenen - for the first time in Trondheim!
