WHAT CAN I DO?
Our hosts do a lot of different tasks for the festival, and there is something for everyone. You don't need any prior experience, as long as you show a good spirit and engagement. Working hours and number of shits vary based on the different tasks. Artist hosts work longer, but fewer shifts, as an example.

Once again, our partner BERRE has delivered a world class festival motif! Two stars from this years program are the models, big thanks to Tora Dahle Aagård and Daniel Herskedal for saying yes ♥️ We can't wait to see them during Jazzfest in May!
For the last six years, our posters have had an unique visual expression, developed as a part of the festivals clear profile. The motives combine traditional studio pictures of the artists with a creative afterwork, where the photos are being evolved with a characteristic red, paint-like impression.
In the mist of planning this years Jazzfest, we seem to have forgotten to announce some very happy news. "The silent winner" Bjørn Klakegg has received a grant from Kulturrådet to sit down in his "composers cave" to compose new music. The commission has the working title "Needlepoint further...", which gives us a solid clue on who we can expect to see on stage during the premiere at Jazzfest in May 2026.
- This year's NTNU Ambassador title goes to a trio that plays fierce, energetic and rocked jazz in a refreshing, unorthodox lineup. This is how the jury describes this year's award winner.
Phønix, consisting of Emil Storløkken Åse, Jenny Frøysa and August Glännestrand, received the prestigious award at the Studentersamfundet in Trondheim on 20th of February. The award was made in connection with the program release for Jazzfest and Jazzmass, a new collaboration between the Student Society and Jazzfest.

Julejazz, on the 28th of December, has become an annual tradition, and a popular meeting spot for Trondheim’s music enthusiasts. A bouquet of Trondheim-based musicians contribute to a night full of quality music, a great atmosphere and music for almost every taste!
Trondheim’s unique jazz environment will fill Scandic Nidelven Hotel, keeping the energy going non-stop from 18:00 until well past midnight. Julejazz has grown to be one of Norway’s largest indoor concert events.
Welcome to a new free musical family day in Olavshallen, Sunday 20th of October!
Here the children can experience different concerts, try sampling and to play instruments, see movies, draw, dance at a disco, take part of workshops and a treasure hunt, borrow a translator - and a lot more. All the dining places in Olavshallen are open.
