NTNU Mini Conference

Music and community

Music safeguards community, strengthens trust and cohesion, reduces alienation and polarization – for the good of a viable democracy. Would you like to hear more about why and how it is?

Jazzfest and NTNU Music invite you to a boundary-breaking Saturday where both researchers and musicians give you a buffet of knowledge and art experiences, all under the umbrella of COMMUNITY.

We can tempt with Nora Bilalovic Kulset who introduces why and how music in many ways establishes community, Thomas Hilder who tells about music, diversity, rights and queerness, Katarina Lindblad and her research on music and outsiderness among older single men, and we get artistic elements from time to time from all parts of NTNU Music: classical, jazz, music technology, dancers from all over the world - and maybe you get to sing a little too. If you want.

Organized in collaboration with NTNU Community.
