Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity is the sound of the chaotic, curious and sleepless mind of one of our most active drummers and his friends, who meet in a completely open musical setting, without genre restrictions! After a decade of recordings and concerts as one of Europe's most hard-swinging and dynamic trios, they felt the urge to expand their spectrum with the natural forces Signe Emmeluth and Kjetil Møster.

The album Great Intentions is an album about communication. About good intentions gone wrong, and the bumpy roads paved with them. Intentions and expectations that fail fatally, both on a personal level and on a larger scale. People who are unable to talk to each other, and a world that is lost in a sea of ​​words, unable to find their right recipients.

With inspiration from Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Elvin Jones (to name a few), Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity's common language is a place where traditions meet the present, and history merges with the future.
