Anna Ueland
USBL Jazztalent award winner Anna Ueland has assembled a star-studded team of musicians for the project "Popular music for like-minded people", which premiered at the Oslo Jazz Festival in 2025. The project was received with an enormously positive response to a packed hall at the National Jazz Scene, and has later been invited to several Norwegian jazz festivals.
In the project, she lets gut feeling, nostalgia and inspiration lead the way, based on memories that have left their mark – from books, Björk and the Beatles to Twin Peaks, Espen Reinertsen, Todd Terje and snowboard films – in something that results in a kind of experimental gangster pop.
"Popular music for like-minded people" was like visiting the head of someone who perceives the world through music. Who absorbs everything within music, and lets her emotional life live there. Then the musical result is necessarily eclectic and creative. » (Torkjell Hovland, jazzinorge.no)
