Veslemøy Narvesen

Part of a triple concert at Byscenen on Friday, May 9th.

On Friday, May 8th, you can experience three of the most prominent young players in Norwegian jazz and related genres. Veslemøy Narvesen, Orbits and Anna Ueland share the stage in an evening put together to reflect the diversity of young Norwegian jazz musicians.

Veslemøy Narvesen
Drummer and composer Veslemøy Narvesen has in recent years distinguished herself as a solid solo artist with two studio albums under her own name, and presented her own songs in orchestral format together with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra in June 2025. Veslemøy has become one of the country's most sought-after drummers, and "everyone" wants to play with her. She was awarded the Adresseavisen music scholarship in 2025, and has become a versatile musician in several genres after graduating from NTNU Jazzlinja in 2023.

Now she is out with her second studio album Letting All Light Through on Jazzland Recordings, and shows herself as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and arranger. Letting All Light Through stretches the boundaries of what modern and alternative pop music can be, with her clear openness to musical impulses and references. Through her collaboration with KORK, she has created intricate string arrangements and complex harmonic landscapes that give the album a rich and colorful soundscape. Letting All Light Through expresses an inevitable hope that pushes through resistance – the light that finds its way after darkness.
