Jan Garbarek can undoubtedly be considered one of the great genre-defining musicians in Nordic jazz. With his lyrical playing, he has left his mark on the European jazz scene for over 50 years! He is constantly composing new music and touring with his band, consisting of German pianist Rainer Brüninghaus, who has been with the band for thirty years, Brazilian bassist Yuri Daniel and Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu. With a track record of rare distinction, he has over 30 albums to his name with international stars such as Keith Jarret, Ralph Towner, Terje Rypdal, Bobo Stenson, Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell, Manu Katché, Marilyn Mazur and Trilok Gurtu – to name a few.
