Dirty Loops
Ticket sale start Friday 10:00!
Dirty Loops became nothing less than an internet phenomenon among music lovers, with their energetic and playful rearrangements of popular songs on Youtube.
The band was started in 2008 by Jonah Nilsson (vocals and keyboards), Aron Mellergård (drums) and Henrik Linder(bass) as a haven to try things they couldn't do in other projects. They saw the light of day when they uploaded a version of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" on Youtube, hoping to get a gig or two.
In the years that followed, more energetic covers of popular songs and a record deal came, in collaboration with David Foster and Swedish Andreas Carlsson, who have collaborations with NSYNC and Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin and Herbie Hancock, to name a few. This resulted in the debut album Loopified in 2014, followed by a world tour and support tour for Maroon 5.
In 2020 they released the album Phoenix followed by Turbo in 2021 together with Cory Wong from Vulfpeck, among others, and played an extensive tour of the USA and Canada in 2024. The last time they visited Trondheim was during Jazzfest in 2023. It was a big sensation that filled every seat in Olavshallen. After a longer European tour, they now return to Jazzfest for a show at Byscenen on November 24.
