Intergalactic jazzrock with a dash of magic!
The trio PHØNIX have been appointed as this years NTNU Ambassadors! The appointment happened at Jazzfest's program release party at Studentersamfundet on the 20th of February, and the trio is being celebrated with a concert at Moskus on Wednesday 7th May!
If you want raw, innovative rock one can apparently find a jazz band! Emil Storløkken Åse's PHØNIX, a thrilling, three-headed musical entity, takes you on a sonic excursion. With guitar, saxophone, drums and a little machine magic, the band weaves together jazz, psychedelia, prog, avant-garde and pop in a fresh and massive soundscape.
PHØNIX has quickly established itself as a dynamic and exciting force in the Norwegian jazz scene! Since 2021, this explosive rock-jazz trio has performed on stages and clubs all over Norway, impressing audiences and critics with their groovy riffs, powerful interplay and joy.
In 2025, the band celebrates the release of their ambitious concept album “Intergalloptic Roundtrip”, which was released in November 2024, to rave reviews.
2025 looks to be a breakthrough year for the band on the international jazz scene, so be early – come and experience PHØNIX before they take the plunge into the cosmos!
