Our musical family day is arranged as a part of the JOYN-IN project, our commitment to diversity and inclusivity, where we wish to encourage young talents and prevent outsideness through music and a common joy in experiencing culture. 

Every part of Olavshallen will be filled with activities on this fall's biggest happening for the whole family! Completely free and open for all. 

THIS YEARS CONCERTS AND ACTIVITIES

ARABA

Trondheim’s diverse music scene is home to musicians from across the globe. ARABA brings together four talented musicians from Nigeria and Ghana with four musicians from Trondheim’s jazz scene.

Together, they perform traditional African music featuring driving rhythms and explosive energy that are guaranteed to get you dancing.

Sun Songs and Rain Rhymes

What does rain sound like? Can we create the sound of falling snow? Or the sound of the moon shining?

This is a family concert based on rhymes and verses about the weather, the seasons, and the rhythms of our lives; together with the audience, we play with our voices and explore how music can be more than just singing a melody.

MUSIKALFABRIKKEN

🎭 Musikalfabrikken completely charmed the audience at the 2024 JOYN-IN, and now they are finally returning!

They will perform Musikalfabrikken’s original song "Hei kjære Trondheim" and two songs from the Kari Palari musical.

From Ole Viig Upper Secondary High School

🎸 We are proud to present up-and-coming young musicians at JOYN-IN!

This year, we are hosting the band Notlaus from the music program at Ole Viig Upper Secondary School for a concert on the Corner Stage 🎉 Come and experience our young musicians who will be the future of the music scene in Trondheim.
 

CINEMA: THE ARISTO CATS

A timeless Disney classic with a big heart, humor, and irresistible music.

The elegant cat Duchess and her three kittens are kidnapped from Paris. Out in the countryside, they meet the alley cat Thomas O'Malley and the musician Scat Cat, who plays in a cool jazz band. They try to make their way back to Paris, but it is a long journey.

Runtime: 78 minutes
Recommended age limit: 6 years

DRUM ACTIVITIES WITH PULSE

Unleash your inner drummer! Everyone gets their own drum bucket and drumsticks, and together we learn various rhythms and play as a large drum circle.

PULSE is an exchange program between the Norwegian Band Federation and South Africa’s Field Band Foundation, and we will be meeting two instructors from South Africa.

🤹‍♀️ How do you get a plate spinning on a stick? How fast can you spin a hula hoop, and how do you learn to juggle?

Join in as an experienced circus performer teaches their best tricks and invites everyone to play and have fun!

⏸️ Need a break from all the cool activities? Then why not sit down at the drawing station and catch your breath? 😌

Here, you can draw freehand or color in instruments and the JOYN-IN characters 🎺

🍎 Between all the activities, both young and old need a bite to eat. You are welcome to bring your own packed lunch to JOYN-IN!

The tables at Olavstorget are reserved for paying customers, but up in the 3rd-floor foyer, you can enjoy your packed lunch in peace and quiet 🥕
