JazzExpo: Kirsti Huke - Weaving

The work Weaving is originally a commissioned work for Trondheim Jazzfestival 2017 by vocalist and composer Kirsti Huke.

Kirsti Huke has in her entire career worked with genre-exceeding music. With two drummers, trumpet, synths, vocals and harmonium, elements from different genres and phrases-from the acoustic to electronic, from lyrical and introvert to the more extroverted.

Weaving is a work where text and music go hand in hand, where the gaze of the "I" is moved inward and outward. Tracks and text circles around each other, accompanying a thread, merging in each other, as a tissue;

-and turns into "Weaving."

Kirsti Huke - vocals, omnichord, harmonium
Gunnar Halle - trumpet, synths, vocals
Erik Nylander - drums, drum machine, percussion
Wetle Holte - drums, drum machine
